I was inspired two days ago after a cute girl said she liked an eye painting i did in the 9th grade :). Thus i created another “eye” themed digital painting! I was really exciting about the gif i created, but then realized tumblr only allows up to 500kb and I lost most of the quality creating the gif… Any who I hope you enjoy it :)

I’ve decided to revisit a previous project titled “10-23”. I feel as if I can bring new knowledge ive learned since tackling this project and bring the entire piece up a notch. Ill post more updates after i enjoy a nice needed family vacation. Crazy to realize i haven’t seen most of my family in almost a year!

I havnt posted in quite some time since i graduated from college and moved out to California. However now that im all settled in im getting back into making some really cool new things. This is a snapshot of my new website (About Me Section), which is still in the early phases but its a WIP!

First test video of my demo reel. Ill now be adding in the music, finessing the camera movements, masking off the tv in adobe aftereffects and adding in my previous projects videos to be placed inside the tv. This is an early short version with the end cut off and lower resolution setting.

A progress picture of my demo reel setting. I still have to texture a few more things, and place them in the scene, such as the fan, lamp books, papers, light switch and electrical outlet. Ill also be adding in lights for the desk lamp. However this is overall look im going for. I’m pretty happy with the direction its going in. :)

I’ve started to create my demo reel. My Idea for my demo is for it to start out in this eerie office. The room is lit by light leaking in from the blinds on the window, as well as a small amount of light coming from the desk lamp. The camera slowly zooms in and focuses in on the tv in the corner. While zooming in towards the tv, a name plaque on the desk comes into view and written upon it is “Brendan Lay Demo Reel.” When the camera comes close enough to the tv, it will turn on and have white noise until my first project im showing off comes to view. Once the reel is over the camera zooms back out to the original desk view and written on a piece of paper on the desk is my contact info. This image is the beginning process of modeling out the eerie office scene.
